What is Lips Micropigmentation?

Micropigmentation or Semi Permanent Make-Up is a method of depositing hypoallergenic mineral pigments into the most superficial layer of the skin to reshape and redesign lips, eyebrows, scalp and more. 

 

Lips Micropigmentation or Lip Blush can enhance and revive your current lip shade and shape, giving them a lush, healthy colour and more definition. This technique can also correct asymmetry, pale lips or overly dark lips. 

It is a great treatment that will help create a more harmonious and balanced appearance to the face and save you time during makeup routines, reducing the time needed to get you out of the door.

How will the new colour be selected? 

On your first consultation with us, our Micropigmentation Artist Josh will help you select a colour from a range of shades to blend with your natural lip tone.

Your skin tone, facial features and personal preferences will be taken into account and you'll be advised on the best shade for you according to you your goals. 

I have very dark lips and would like to correct that.

Is it possible?

Yes. We will use a Colour Correction technique using a combination of different shades of pigment according to the colour of your lips. This will neutralise the dark tones and aims to bring your lips to a natural, healthy looking brighter shade. After colour is adjusted it is possible to add other colours if you wish so. 

Colour correction of dark lips is a somehow tricky process which may require multiple sessions, patience and extra care. In some cases results are very subtle. Our Practitioner will assess and advise you on the best course of treatment for you during your consultation.

Can Men have Lips Micropigmentation? 

Yes. It is a great treatment for men looking to revitalise their lips and make them healthier looking or to correct dark lips.

The results look completely natural. It is a subtle but very effective upgrade.

How many sessions are needed?

In most cases, only 2 initial sessions are necessary. 

The first session then a touch up session 5 to 6 weeks later. The touch up session is very important because that's when any adjustments and reinforcements are made.

Will it hurt? 

Most people experience very mild discomfort during the procedure and find very tolerable. 

​

Can I have the treatment if I have lip fillers?

Yes. And the combination of both can work really well. We recommend you have your fillers done at least 4 weeks before or after your Lip colour session with us.

Please note we do not work with fillers or injectables.

 

How soon will I see results? 

Immediately after procedure and during the initial few days the colour will look more saturated but it starts to fade and normalise itself in about 4 to 7 days and continues to adjust to its desired shade until it is completely healed.You are also likely to experience some swelling on the lips and that usually disappears in about 24 hours after your session.  

The entire healing process takes a minimum 4 weeks and that's when the true colour can be seen.

How long will my new lips last?

Micro Pigmented lips can last 2 to 3 years. 

As with any cosmetic procedure, results can differ from each person depending on several factors such as skin type, lifestyle and environment. These can all affect how long the pigment will stay in the skin. 

Clients usually return for a touch up session every year or 2 to give it a colour boost and freshen up the work, if needed.
